THANKSGIVING WEEKEND SPECIAL – FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS CELEBRATION THURSDAY: Arrive at the Captain Lindsey House Inn either Wednesday night or Thursday morning in time for a sumptuous New England Thanksgiving feast, prepared in the best schooner galley tradition by Captains Ken and Ellen Barnes and served mid-afternoon in our cozy dining room. Spend a leisurely evening in front of a crackling fire listening to Ken playing historic sea shanties and selections from the Penobscot Bay's indigenous folk music, while visiting with new friends or drifting into a tryptophan-induced cat nap. FRIDAY: After a great breakfast, shop to your heart’s content at Rockland’s “Eat, Drink and Be Merry” on Main Street and catch Santa arriving by Coast Guard boat at the Public Landing. Return to the inn in the afternoon for a step-by-step demonstration by Captain Ken on unique and creative present-wrapping techniques. He will be happy to help you wrap your presents if you choose. In the evening the mayor will light the World’s Largest Lobster Trap Christmas Tree and proclaim the opening of the holiday season. SATURDAY: Wake up to a lovely breakfast, shop, sightsee, enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides, free trolley rides, holiday music, visits with Santa, and the Historic Inns of Rockland's annual Holiday Open House tours that benefit the Rockland Public Library. Ken will be available to help you wrap your presents late in the afternoon. As darkness falls enjoy the Rockland Festival of Lights Parade winding its way downtown to the public landing, culminating in carols and hot chocolate at a bonfire near the Christmas tree. Come and partake in a traditional small-town holiday celebration. Package includes three (3) nights at the Captain Lindsey House Inn in a Queen or King Room, two tickets to the Holiday Open House Tour, a shopping bag filled with wrapping paper, ribbon, and gift tags.
